Back in 2014, with the help of dozens of local volunteers, Samsung spent a month preparing a special surprise for one particular individual. This experience would be part of a roll out intuitive, introducing a new service in Turkey, providing customer support for hearing impaired customers.

The center of this Truman Show-esque experience, Muharrem, had no idea what was about to happen to him. A month of strangers in sign language classes, crews, planning meetings and camera set ups lead to a profound impact in one mans life. Not to mention a new approach to customer experience, marketing and creating media content to promote a service.

Muharrem, up until this day, felt a certain exclusion from his community, the inability to communicate normally. Being def in a town where no one knows sign language, what a barrier. And to some, it was an opportunity. A chance to learn for the sake of him, to help him by lowering the barrier of his disability. Not only would he be able to have the memory of the experience but he will be able to continue communicating with these people, who have learned basic sign language just for him.

Watch the video and check out his expressions as things escalate. Way to go Samsung and kudos to the volunteers who chose to be part of this greatness. This experience is proof of the importance of community, communication and leveling the field of disability. #buildunifymanifest
